I've gotta give 2013 to Takahata's final masterpiece Tale of the Princess Kaguya. A bittersweet tale that's literall 1000 years old but somehow very modern and poignant about the uncertainty of growing up and what the future lies. if I could only call one anime art, it'd be this.

"Durandal" was the sword of Charlemagne's palladin Roland.
Poignant scene as he dies, Roland smashes it so it will not fall into enemy hands:

Klonoa: Empire of Dreams (2001)

A really solid handheld version of Klonoa that, despite having a far less poignant story, plays very well and has a satisfying collection of more puzzle-focused levels, which I’m glad they did more of in Klonoa 2. Had a good time here.
