Not a lot is known about Kem Kem flora, especially the aquatic plants. Large lilypads have been found, but what plants were present underwater? We do know there were trees around so I chose to depict some dead ones at the bottom of the river.
The croc in the background is Laganosuchus, a really weird critter. It also appeared in the background of a previous Kem Kem drawing I did but I chose to draw it again, simply because I just love it's pancake face.
Other fish visible in this drawing are a gar (Obaichthys africanus) and a polypterid. Of the polypterid all we have are two jaw fragments, and one of those isn't even from the Kem Kem. Phylogenetic bracketing is a paleontologist's best friend.
