Been catching up on the IDW reboot of Transformers, and I have a theory vis-a-vis Cyclonus. This is sparked off by his appearance. The very square shoulers? The general boxiness? This is a very specific Cyclonus. This is Combiner Wars Cyclonus.

for context: a lot of transformers, especially in the comics, have lots of glowy parts (energon lines) and they all have this internal thing called a "spark" (effectively a heart) that looks very similar to gakupo's design (third picture)

Since they just got done with Transformers, I could see a Sonic and My Little Pony crossover happening in the future, especially since both comic series are run by IDW.

Plus, I believe Ian Flynn said he’d be up for it (he also worked on the Transformers crossover).
