Most of my paintings have what I call a “weird bit”. It’s usually a section of underpainting that is so unique, that I can’t bear to cover it up even though it makes no sense in the finished painting.

Team Up Mission!

this is a page from the beginning of team up mission that i colored and painted a background for! this took foreeeeverrrr but I love how it came out. The underpainting is the same rainbow as the 'side' characters, but i'm not sure that comes through as much.

Tempted to go back to this underpainting style, which I may do more thoroughly for commissions. I have had a "no sketch/freeform" approach lately which is fine but these extra steps could work with some designs and help with providing WIPs... I want to provide a good service.
