tracing can be useful, actually, if you use it properly. break down your references and then redraw it. it helps you see the shapes (both positive and negative) in the forms! then you can try it on your own by copying what youve done afterward.

Once I realized you could actually reach the fireball with the dash, I thought it would be a cool hidden trick, kinda line shine sparking in super metroid. Not sure if it will even be useful, but it looks pretty alright, I think.

Well, I tried repainting my Vanessa with tutorial, and here is the result! The left one with CSP and right one with Photoshop. The method of having a "painted base" is REALLY useful, sadly I don't have a tablet, so I had to redraw with mouse, but is worth it.
