I think it is quite complex and subjective. It rather depends on a palette, execution but also varied subjects, reflections, and narratives to express.
Still, I call my art - obscure. And occasionally dark surrealism.

While Black Hops does coexist and crossover with Kamen America, we write both series so that they can be read independently and still feel complete. For instance, Black Hops 3 takes place between Kamen America 1 & 2, but if you didn't read it, it doesn't impact the KA narrative.

Scarlet Nexus (anime)

Though lacking in the action and more character driven moments of the game, the anime does do a great job at taking the Yuito and Kasane storylines and combining them into one narrative.
The games are better but this ain’t completely useless

Okay, I have a new interpretation of Age of X-Man that I actually find kind of interesting.

Lines like these lead me to believe that the subtext of the story is a meta-narrative about writers implementing retcons and how readers and the characters themselves feel about that.

I actually just pitched this read to another person so I have pages on hand. Phoenix, an unparalleled masterpiece, produced over a span of decades, narratively spanning eternity and tragically unfinished due to Tezuka's passing. Experimental, epic, an incredible feat of artistry.
