Kick-Heart screams just Yuasa. I think that's the most I can say about it. Definitely not for everybody but for any fan of Yuasas work this is more of it filled with incredibly expressive animation.

I felt this very much last year when I had the chance to jump into animation. Sucked it up and threw out my style habits for a weekend that I was so accustomed to and instead opted to cater to that studios style.

Ultimately? Worth the initial struggle to get a foot in the door.

I think the issue with “anime” style talk is that it can feel reductive because anime…just means animation. It’s a medium. It can look like anything. There’s no set look. These are all anime.
