#DidYouKnow that echidnas (monotreme order of egg-laying mammals)are named after Echidna, a beast from Greek mythology who was half-woman, half-snake. This is because the animal was perceived to have qualities of both mammals & reptiles. Echidna's closes relatives are platypuses.
