A few Leyendecker studies from today to get back into the flow after my break. ❤️ I find his work really hard to nail down, bc he used a combination of render and lineart, and didn't wrap his strokes around the form, but went with it.

Looking through my copy of Fables: The Complete Covers by . If I were to describe his early work, I'd have described him as a cross between Caspar David Friedrich, J.C. Leyendecker, and Max Fleischer.

I don't know how to describe his work now. Other than phenomenal.

“This is real isn’t it?” ❤️

Lost my nerve a bit painting over the understudy but by the spirit of Leyendecker and with the blessing of Anh Do's colour theory, I will prevail!

Deckerstar Doll version. I'm annoyed that there wasn't a suit available (unless you pay) so that's what we have 😂

A half-NPC Moro Lydecker. His leg is wonky and uses his umbrella as a cane. It's more of a parasol because it's for sun, but he feels that's not a terribly dignified word. Parasol.

Erasure - Wonderland (1986). The boy scout on the album cover is based on an 1918 World War 1 poster by J.C. Leyendecker.
