The Champion encounters were some of the best character development bits in Pokemon tbh, not only did they show there's more to being a Champion by battling the evil team, they ask you to join them in battle, showing interest in a young prodigy, hoping to battle you someday.

Fantastic Four had a cover date of November 1961. A mere 10 years later (Nov ‘71) near the start of the Bronze Age, Spidey had 6 arms, Cap teamed with the Falcon, & The Avengers were battling in the Kree-Skrull War! Marvel covered a ton of ground in its 1st decade! Incredible!

Elara is a tragic case from the Sinnoh region. She'd been in some rough unlicensed leagues who didn't treat her very well.

She's a bit timid and shy because of her experiences, but she does love battling despite it all. Elara will apologize to you while kicking your butt haha :p
