I've always known that D&D took liberties with the monsters it pulled from, that the folklore is a jumping off point, and that sometimes the only similarity is in the name. I mean, hell, take a look at the Tarrasque. I can't fault you for playing with the one on the right.

i take aspects i like from "canon" but the canon designs arent consistent enough for anyone to use as a guide lol - i made a design that deliberately looked like the one in rise of scourge but he's one of the ones fun to take liberties with so ill prolly make alt designs soon
