"There are moments when a single snail can make a world go extinct." #zeroescape
Cool! From @esrfsynchrotron: "An international team of scientists has used high-powered X-rays at the European Synchrotron to show how an extinct South African 200-million-year-old #dinosaur, Heterodontosaurus tucki, breathed." https://t.co/re098ys5Qt

Man I screamed when I saw yasuke in nioh.
I was CRYING. And and when I got him in sphere of influence. AND NOW HES GONNA BE IN SW 5 LETS GOOO
Also I love that his animal in nioh is an atlas bear. A species of bear in Africa that went extinct in the 1600s or so? I think??
Another possibility is Gorou being a wolf (ōkami)
Unfortunately, Japanese wolves are now extinct because of an epidemy and wolf hunts.
Wolves in Japan were rather small but considered to be brave, just and strong. Some of them were the protectors of travellers (!)
On day 4 of #SharkWeek we are adding some of the extinct forerunners of the sharks to our #MapOfLife
They complete the subclass known as the #Elasmobranchs
Nicobar Pigeon (Caloenas nicobarica), closest living relative of the extinct Dodo. French illustration from the 1950s.

Hello #PortfolioDay & #sciartportfolioweek!
My name is Cameron and I love to illustrate extinct and extant animals!
it’s #PortfolioDay again! i guess! i’m kingsley, a tattoo artist, illustrator, and merch designer in richmond, virginia. i like to draw (and tattoo) weird plants and animals, alive or dead or extinct.
i’m also excited to like, travel for cons and stuff in the future again 🖤
So, it’s #PortfolioDay again? I work with coloured pencils and digital media, including 3D modelling - primarily wildlife, both living and extinct!
Hello on #PortfolioDay. I am still pretty new to critter art so please look gently on my little portfolio. Recently I have also begun plush design!
I love pets, dinosaurs/extinct creatures, weasels and border collies. I paint and create them to help overcome PTSD. Thank you!
They're not extinct yet! Here is the ever elusive thylacine hard at work. Hudson Thatcher hates his job and anyone who comes in it. Smile, Hudson! Oh nevermind hes going on a smoke break...
This is Tyrannosaurus Rex from my dinosaur series ANIMAL / EXTINCTION / DINOSAURS. I'm still fleshing it out. Here's a preview. https://t.co/PytYe0nwcc.
Hello #Portfolioday!
My name is Corbin and I love to make very detailed paintings of extinct animals!
Did some research on evolution of giraffes, and I just had to stop and admire this extinct creature's unique horns. Called Prolibytherium, it was a giraffoid that lived 16 million years ago, was as tall as a horse, but had these BEAUTIFUL horns. I wish more art existed of them...
The gold-crested wyvern (Draconis aurocephalis) was hunted to extinction in the early middle ages by feudal lords who valued it only for its fierce and regal appearance when stuffed and put on display in throne rooms and great halls
