Having said that...the show actually does this a little...it establishes its own visual motifs that it already seems to be playing with.
Also I love how idyllic show Viltrum looks, still clearly utilitarian but a bit more Krypton and a tad less Brutalist.

A change I think was super cool in the show was Mark's interaction with his bully. In the comics this isn't even 'Todd' yet, just another bully. While I like the beat of Mark standing up for someone...I think him taking the hits and not using his strength to overpower him is key.
