From a spriting side, as I said, I was stuck within the original sprite's sizes (which was okay with Base forms + Ultra White/Green), but I had to fit Ultra Black's twintails in that area, along with the fact I was horrible at art back then... it was not great.

the front of the hat sprite still is as wide as his head and not bigger, if anything his ear fluff exceeds the length of the brim and the hat is short enough for his head fluff to stick out

cowboy hats have long brims irl and again the ch1 hat and cowboy have the same brim size
