The kelpie is a large aquatic predator native to the oceans and waterways around Britain and northern Europe. The function of the long main and tail hair is unknown but possibly is used as camouflage, as the Kelpie is an ambush predator.

To Fight Another Day by Mark Postlethwaite is dedicated to PO ‘Bill’ Watling of 92 Sqn. During the Battle of Britain he escaped from a burning aircraft, returning to operations within a month, but was killed just a few months later. He was 20 years old.
