Scenes like this make it clear why mecha anime uses custom units and unique color schemes as here it's difficult to tell who is in which powered suit. The way the camera lingers over the flight units made me think Masato was in one of them.

I even use the inside and outside all the time for distorted cameras or zoomed-in character appearances! I always paint over to match the colors, but I feel it is still worth it to be able to use the 3D model, where I can change the camera like a director.
