It's more common as a sculpting grip. I've actually seen it a lot as a tattoo artist because our linework focuses a lot on pulling motions with restricted elbow movement. I can imagine that you may have drawn in your lap a lot in a tight seat as a kid.

It's normal.

Here's the finished, game-ready animation of Alexia's idle pose.
