@BATMANONFILM But of course, why use the Kal-El name at all? Adapting Val-Zod, would be the better move. An already established character from the comics. Hopefully that THR article wasn't quite accurate.
Black fans don't want black Kal-El because we would rather have Calvin Ellis, Val-Zod, or the incredible and underused Icon. We have more than one black Superman already and it appears WB just wants to save face by pandering to us instead of listening to us.

Both characters were accepted by their audience without the split you currently see with Kal. They're doing this hoping to capture 'Black Panther' numbers.
