@Protoman @nescartridges Fun fact this is inaccurate.
The Mega Man 1 and 2 sprites are slightly different from the rest of the 8-bit games since Mega Man has a yellow tinted face while the sequels managed to get a more natural skin color.
Mega Man 9 and 10 went back to the yellow face for some reason.
All this said, there's still enough sprite art space left for another 13 sprites, with another 12/40 available to show on the screen! Maybe I can cram in a few more for leaves or screws or something. Watch this space!
Instead let's look at just how tight the restrictions are. You can see if the player is above where they need to be, there are too many sprites on a scanline and we start losing some. In an early build I had one too many sprites on the feet and I lost a sprite.
