Short Answer—Neon, long answer I worked on a story before Neons Tale where the first character I made would be “Hyper”.

I planned to make him the protagonist for the next project, but after losing an online account in his name I made a new one and changed the name to Neon.

Up until now the comics had been relatively tame in terms of violence so this was a big tipping of the hat (and only the tip of the iceberg), the show exists in a space where the comic was already infamous for its gore so it had to go even further with this sequence...it worked
