Nickelodeon has launched the new Avatar Studios to expand the 'The Last Airbender’ and ‘Legend of Korra’ universe with new animated shows and movies, headed by original creators.

First in series is a new 'ATLA' animated theatrical film, which will begin production this year.

I think a animated movie about the adult versions of Aang, Katara, Zuko, Sokka & Toph makes the most sense with the early days of Republic City. You get the ATLA nostalgia but you also have something that connects to the main location in Legend of Korra.
