Day 1 of learning to Rig. I did the whole process start to finish from drawing the model to rigging in Live 2D.

I kept it as simple as possible for my first go at it, but I'm pretty satisfied for my first day ^_^

For better or for worse, in many ways 3D, being more familiar, is more boring. And I guess that’s the appeal of 2D. Ukiyo woodblock prints are striking because they are 2D, and the “floating world” aesthetic would be lost in an attempt to make them 3D.

Here’s 2 quick thoughts.The current pose I can’t really tell position, in part bc of the body positioning in relation to bubble, in part bc no legs on the ground, which makes it extra hard to judge position. I’d add those in and maybe plan it in 3d space before going in 2d.
