Crabs are some of my favorite animals, especially the Japanese Spider Crab. The carapaceons from MH took some clear inspiration from these and Hermit Crabs, particularly Shen Gaoren. However, the Musekis (My crab people), also have another...interesting sub-divison. Stay tuned.

fun kirby fact: meta knight, galacta knight, & morpho's mask are all made of a substance called "keratin" (same stuff as your nails), and grow organically from their body!! hence why metas mask grows back

the only exception is axe knight, whos mask is a carapace made of chitin!

another monster art assignment piece i've done. this one took a lot more time due to my unfamiliarity to insect carapace textures and trying to figure out the lighting. definitely more that could've improved but that'll be for another time
