I had FUN with the little bits in this one like Harley's tattoos, or the drippy/wet bits. And I'm really pleased with how Ivy turned out in the sort of desaturated colouring style I use for these.
I tried real hard, but it still looks sloppy and desaturated… Honestly, I’m no way satisfied with how it came out, but I can’t find it within myself to give up coloring (or visual arts overall). What a masochist 😂🤣

I tried painting shadows like those kind of illustrations I see where the shadows are a bit desaturated and on a different hue. But I ended up having a different result instead. With the clothes looking iridescent. haha

Of course, we have backlights and the GBC didn't. Dark on light is generally more legible than light on dark (think about reading books in sunlight: black text on white paper) which is why GBC games prefer light backgrounds and dark objects. Desaturated BG, vibrant FG. (18/24)

@EwylanaR @fakeeggs Thank you for the art share! I'm namio, and I do watercolors and fountain pen inks. Honestly I'm just a big sucker for a pale grey-green, blue and purple (and really dark, desaturated colors), but what can never be apart from my palette (quite physically) is Perylene Violet!
Indeed, the first season’s colour palette is too much desaturated, giving it a stale ambience to the artwork who should be warmer and more welcoming. Fortunately, It is a flaw that was corrected in the next seasons as the colours there are brighter.
Plus a more desaturated version because I am the most indecisive bitch on the planet
