For some context, Nimbus is the Swap version of Dud, a baby OC I made. Dud was abandoned in a facility as an embryo and born 20 years later. Due to the lack of heat in his tank he didn’t have a heat source to keep himself alive, all except for Whitty.

I find it really interesting that a turtle's shell is not a exterior addition separate from the reptile, but, in fact, a part of it. Turtle embryos develop shells through the fusion of rib bones & back bones. The evolutionary process for this is borderline sci-fi.
