It’s worth painting on good quality surfaces because if it doesn’t work you can paint over it…and over it and over it…infact on a quality surface there’s nothing painted that can’t be completely erased by paint except lumps.

yeah, like i get makin the hair a tad bit messy with clumps/strands stickin out, like i do it as well (usin my cursed jjl fever as an example) but they just fuckin got rid of his afro and made it your average medium-length white dude hair

not gonna finish this. i wanna do more backgrounds but idk how to make them seem real busy. I also think i zoom too much in on a scene. I might also make spam too detailed when I can make him just as cartoony. Sorry im just rambling my thoughts in this, art slumps ya know?

The story takes place in 1952 - this is the year Gordon was in Disgrace. Naughty children get lumps of coal in their stocking, so of course Gordon gets one too - but engines like coal, so really it's a gift!

It's also the year the book "Toby the Tram Engine" was published!

For this tree I started with breaking it down to simple shapes, with the cylinder trunk and the leaves as an oblong sphere, and deciding the shadows accordingly. Then once I know where my big shadows are, I can start treating the leaves as a bunch of smaller clumps
