Sir John Everett Millais, (1829 – 1896) was an English painter and illustrator who was one of the founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. He became the most famous exponent of the style, painting perhaps the embodiment of the school, Ophelia, in 1850-51.
The Blind Girl & Self-Portrait, Sir John Everett Millais, born #OnThisDay in 1829. We're having a change in our Pre-Raphaelite galleries after June 10th, so last chance to view in Birmingham for a while. Or you could buy a print... https://t.co/J36woqi69F
@Tate Maybe a tad obvious, but pairing Millais, Ophelia, 1851-52 w/ Wallis, Chatterton, 1856 at @Tate Britain is very satisfying. #ITweetMuseums
