Honestly I kind of prefer the artstyle of the Gorillaz from the earlier phases. I'm just a sucker for thick angular lines outlines and the more cartoony style.

non realistic artstyle isnt the point, the type of animation that the above use has renders and shading making it look almost 2d, as if it were drawn + lower framerates in certain moments

Call me controversial but I’ve never been a super big fan of shintani’s DB its great but I prefer the look on one piece.

At times the more cartoony stylizations it just doesn’t make moments feel serious. I Definitely prefer when its more uniform 🤝
