It’s fun to compare the non textured versions of my work especially when the final illo looks drastically different to the early stages.

I have a weird obsession with drastically changing characters from their canon counterparts

Wanted to show a before and after of my most recent redraw. I didn’t want to change anything drastic, keeping the same pose and colors but I wanted to see my growth as an artist. I’m still improving but I’m happy with where my art is going!

Finnaly can make this announcement, I will being going through a redesign, now it not a huge drastic redesign, but things are being changed enough to warrant a post. I will also have new lore to go with the redesign, here a little tease of what to come.

2021 [full drawing] - 2018 [design sketch] - 2021 [design sketch]
Nothing too drastic, mainly new colours and a more angular appearance!

Day 19! Drawing specific facial expressions is a huge part of a comic artist's job, and over the years I have found that the relationship between the iris and the upper eyelid is crucial. Even very slight adjustments can drastically change how alarmed/calm your character appears.

I'm sure in a year time, It'll drastically change again, haha. Look at that improvement though.

Here's two examples from my sonas! I think Jove's change is much more drastic than Chromie's, but both are equally different. Im much happier with them both as well!
