They took a bipedal monster and gave it the "upgrade it into a quadrupedal monster" treatment RE is known for. With the key difference being, the Doom monster wasn't a form change/upgrade, it's still the same creature.

Liberated clamberer model fleshcraft. While it appears to be quadruped, it actually possesses a network of tendrils which can function as arms or legs. Its body is also studded with implant slots for cybernetics in case it needs a more specialised tool installed.
