#SkillNotTalent 2016 vs 2022
I used to get super frustrated because I 'wasn't good at art' and was jealous of people with 'talent.' Only in the last 3 years did I start to *really* focus on practicing fundamentals and start seeing a big improvement.
"Fundamentally speaking, there's little difference between snow and rain, yet people lavish praise only upon the former... Fate can be truly arbitrary."
The flavor text comes from a charm that hails from the Isle of Mann and is meant to ward off fae who swap human babies for changelings. Folklorist Sophia Morrison was fundamental in the Manx cultural revival at the beginning of the 20th c. 2/5

@LadyLowrely Thank you for the artshare! 💛
For 2023, I wish to develop solid art fundamentals, I want to get better especially at anatomy, perspective, and painting in general, and I want to learn to paint architectural elements.
Also I'm planning to open comms very soon. 💛
@YozukiFumi Honestly start with what you're interested in! For me, the key to improving was to draw things I like, but also as fundamental studies. For example, i wanted to study lighting, so I made this drawing! Also, please don't get discouraged 🥲 it takes time ^^
Many moons ago I worked with Paolo Pantalena on Jirni for Aspen Comics. I really enjoyed coloring this series. Peter Steigerwald taught me a lot during this period in not only learning the Aspen house style but also about the fundamentals of working the warms & cools. Good times!
1 year progress
I'm a little embarrassed to see my old art, but I can see how important practice and working on fundamentals has helped me improve. I still have ways to go, but I'm proud of myself
@BrownOniiChan @JonLamArt Do people really think drawing is just combining images in your head and drawing it on paper? First you need the actual skill to draw what you imagine your head on paper, and that takes practice and learning the fundamentals. Something AI doesn’t do, just look at these hands.
“@doodles has already shown that a blockchain-based media company can and will change how we engage with and value content fundamentally. I look forward to helping build Doodles into one of the world's next great brands and push blockchain and NFTs into the mainstream market.”
“In the subject who, alternately, reveals himself and conceals himself by means of the pulsation of the unconscious, we apprehend only partial drives.”

It's just... draining.
It's a fundamental disconnect between what I enjoy from gaming and whatever competitive fantasy LoL players got going on in their heads. Tried to play solo, got the same treatment from internet randos, then I just quit.
At least the art and lore are nice.
@EwylanaR January, April, June, November.
June was the first time when I let myself really dive into it, work on a piece sparing absolutely no effort, and let my love for baroque art take over.
For the next year I wish to achieve solid art fundamentals, and I'm planning to open comms. 💛
I have to admit, even the raw stuff is very impressive.
Generic sometimes, but still can be a good base for painters with good fundamentals.
The commercial market will shrink by 95% in less than a year though, brace yourselves 💀
one of my favorite artists that emphasize the importance of form and how the other fundamentals should reflect it is yoji shinkawa
#HumanArtists hiii i will always be adamant about art and its creation being a wholly and fundamentally human process 💕
@invaderalex I hated Bridget before it was cool, fundamentally worthless character. Zato-1 is the coolest in my opinion. He looks like an 80s glam rocker and has his own homoculus.
