Over the course of developing Zokai, I've increased the palette limitations for Zokai sprites several times... And I'm getting the urge to do that again. This time, I'm adding another darker shade in between the darkest shade and black. The effect is subtle, but noticeable.

@Lewchube a lot of old digitalized traditional art in general looks bad, likely just limitations of old scanner, cameras or monitor models.
If you look at other examples like old pokespe scans vs more recent scans of the same artwork the difference is wild
