I have a shoe box filled with photographs from National Geographic and a bunch of other magazines. This drawing used several of those for reference. I tried to do something more realistic than what I was normally used to at the time.

This is my character Amanda's weapon of choice. A fully automatic assault rifle. It fires 7×35mm rounds, and holds two 120 count magazines. It comes with a built-in 40mm grenade launcher, and detachable combat blade.

I think that 's Deinonychus paintings have been very important on the outreach front. For kids growing up in the 90s/early 00s, these were probably the first images of feathered dinosaurs that they had seen due to their appearance in lots of popular books and magazines.
