3- Posing is about outwardly expressing what the character is inside. You can't rush it.

A Good pose will just nail it, No matter what style you use. The key to good character design is:
Posing, Posing, Posing.

Charles and Q84.
He's holding her, as to protect something that's really fragile.
He cannot save her, she's decomposing.

A Uranus and Neptune I started last year for a class demo when we were talking about chibis and other super stylized characters. Found a neat photo for the posing. :)

Some possessed Bramblestar doodles. I like to imagine his body is heavily beaten up, messy and most likely slowly decomposing.

It's amazing how often macro photography end up looking like something large and imposing. This particular piece ended up looking like a canyon, but somehow more imposing. The very little and the very big are more connected than we think.

Here are the developmental pics of 荒鎌.
I made rough sketch on paper for key image of monster, then went to Zbrush deciding the anatomy and silhouettes of A-posing.
After that was posing and detailing, I tried back and forth, came out many version to get final sculpt.

This is old art that I never posted in I'm a bit better at certain technical elements now but I'm still proud of the posing. (Thank you, people who finally convinced me to put it up here :P)

This is Sheeva from Mortal Kombat Armageddon.
Her best look in my opinion.
MK11 Sheeva just looks weak, and unattractive.
Like, yeah, they succeeded in making her sexless, but they definitely failed to make her powerful or imposing.

My music diet has been mostly 14 and Primals music the last few days, so have some self indulgent g-posing.

I'm themed arround foppish villains so that was the main aesthetic. The coat helps make my silhouette seem bigger making me seem more imposing. Also, because eyes are points of connection in humans mine are obscured to give me distance from humanity and be more duplicitous.
