one of my biggest complaints I'll be repeating is the lack of mixed representation of the armors, and that even in games with options, they too were redesigned and overall didn't look right.

Virgin Road light novels writing is so off or maybe "simple", but the story and characters are interesting. Anime adaptation improved many failures of its writting mostly making dialogues more fluid and skipped unnecessary info that keeps repeating for no reason.

Read up Tomie by Junji Ito. It's got a bit of ick to it but overall I loved how it played out and how Junji kept the premise interesting for so long while basically repeating it with iteration on iteration per chapter.

Basically my favorite Junji story now. Love that guy.
