This is highly true, Marvel even printed "the original aquaman" on a Namor comic, which means they knew he had been copied. Also in Aquamans first issue he fights Nazis, something Namor did in his early issues as well. Even the movie version has a Savage Sub-Mariner inspired look

Namor (2003) Namor definitely looks white here. oh wait

What if? Sub-Mariner, Namor looks like his dad. oh wait

In the cartoons-

Ok wait, the first sub-mariner comic in 1939, Namor definitely compares himself to white people- oh shit.

What long term impact did Gene Colan have on the Marvel Universe after penciling key issues of Sub-Mariner, Captain America, Iron Man, DD, Dracula, Howard the Duck & Dr. Strange back in the day? He left his mark on me with his fluid & shadowy style but has he ever been matched?

happy birthday to my younger brother dan, owner of the greatest comic book collection: 200 comics in a Mickey's Big Mouth box featuring either Black Bolt, the Sub-Mariner or The Badger. Have a great day, Larry. --
