Meet Saturnalia; this unassuming dinosaur is one of the earliest, most primitive Sauropodomorphs; related to the ancestors of what will become the mighty Sauropods. Unlike it's later cousins it was small, fleet footed, and omnivorous. Remains are known from Late Triassic Brazil.
"Triassic deadly swamps" (2016). Liliensternus, Plateosaurus & Procompsognathus. It was my first big (and very protracted) drawing (A3). #paleoart #dinosaurs #pencilart #paleontology #triassic
@KingRexy328 Here's a few examples from across the board: alien ecosystem, fictional dinosaur species, Lost World spec project entry, and hypothetical Triassic sea snake analogue
Dino Fact:
Procompsognathus (Before Elegant Jaw) is a coelophysoid from Late Triassic Germany. It was named after a similar theropod, Compsognathus, though Procompsognathus probably wasn't actually Compsognathus's ancestor like the name would suggest.

Dino Fact:
Coelophysis (Hollow Form) is a coelophysoid from Late Triassic North America. It's really well-known among early dinosaurs, with hundreds of skeletons found in Ghost Ranch. It's thought they came together to breed but were killed by a flood.

#SauropterygianSaturday? Ok, here are mine: the henodontid placodont Parahenodus atancensis, the simosaurid Paludidraco Parahenodus (we described both taxa back in 2018, from fossils recovered from the Upper Triassic site of El Atance, Spain), and the nothosaur Brevicaudosaurus.

Silesaurus was a rather strange reptile of uncertain taxonomic affinities. Was it a Dinosauriform as is traditionally, or was it an Ornithischian as of a new study? Probably the latter, but hopefully future research reveals more on this strange Triassic creature!
It's #PortfolioDay again? Ok, here we go:
Hi, I'm Carlos. I am a paleontologist focused in Triassic sauropterygians. I do mostly (but not only) digital paleoart. These are my most recent works, from 2021.
New piece of paleoart: Brevicaudosaurus jiyangshanensis, a recently described nothosaur from the Ladinian (Middle Triassic) of China.

For #FossilFriday, to coincide with #GodzillaVsKong, say hello to the real #Godzilla (sort of) and the creatures that inspired Godzilla’s design! First here’s Gojirasaurus, an early theropod dinosaur from the Triassic Period. Art by @paleofan. (1/3)
