It could be a lot clearer, but the idea here was that he's not just holding the flint dagger, it's tied to his hands for extra security. Even if his fingers break he can keep stabbing. I totally forgot about this. Good job past me!

i also really like the exodar life staff/staff of the redeemer, the starshard edge (see above abt stars; why can't mages use offhand daggers?? can you imaging them together??), the staff of immaculate recovery, and the chillwind staff!!
