Some practicing today. Need to do more armour studies. I also need to work on not letting my mind making everything high-contrast, high-saturation. Dialed down the saturation of the reds as they were unnaturally popping!

Spotting dense blacks and cast shadows first gives you scaffolding to drop the rest of the middling values in later.

Value reigns over hue and saturation with an iron glove. If it’s right, the others can be super out-there and work.

It’s a common thing, but it bears repeating.

Trying out some brushes I downloaded off of CSP. Not entirely happy with the look tho, gonna play around with them more and see if there's an easier way to up saturation.

Also, this is the picture I used to generate a pattern for my next project. It's actually fan-made sprite art! I did change it by raising the saturation (it was less vibrant) and decided to stitch on black cloth.

But i'm still upset about the saturation haha;;
(On my phone the jellyfish looked hot pink, while they were very light on PC 😅 I don't get how they can be THAT different, but I balanced it out somewhat.)

Let's say you forgot to preview your colors and they came out vastly different (like with Knux here, he's REALLY orange and dull). Go to Hue/Saturation > choose the main color you want changed (in this case red), and tweak till' you see fit! (1/2)

darkening the hair way more + increasing the skin saturation really helps, but the hair detail gets blown out and wouldnt work with the lighting scheme i had in mind. whoops. fuck!
