Working on my next painting, of the yew tree walk in Apley Woods; when my father-in-law was a boy this was the main drive up to Apley Castle with trimmed, low hedges & older trees either side ; over decades its become a delightful walk for locals,

Don´t be afraid of strange colours! They often look wrong at the beginning but it gets better with each layer.
I do the brightest colour at the end, so the face is next (and not the white/light grey feather parts).I drew wrinkels with a soft brush & smoothed the edges with eraser
