In maritime lore a sea monster, the Kraken is said to lie at the bottom of the sea. Only surfacing in search of food or if disturbed. By wrapping its huge tentacles it is able to capture whole ship, pulling them down into the depths of the sea.

For me, I start by sketching an outline on a separate layer. Then I paint using other layers (1 layer for skin, 1 for hair in front, 1 for tentacles, etc.).

If I need to refine edges, I use the eraser tool.

Basically, I'm painting the picture, not drawing it.

Now…what to make of these. I post everything that isn’t pornographic or scary. These three Watercolours by Krista Brennan are extremely odd. She’s a freelance Illustrator from Sydney Australia. These I think were for a Children’s book. The tentacles give me the creeps !

Mutos sure I can agree but scilla and the warbats I dunno, with scilla I think they could have done more with its design than just adding tentacles to its face as for the warbats well GTS kinda beat them to the design plus I find the king cobras design to be more interesting.
