A lot of the backgrounds that weren't detailed were green because 1. none of the Linkin Ponies are green, and 2. the studio was green. About 80% of my backgrounds for comics are green I'm sure

Unlike Velvet, who is mostly just The Aesthetic, Sync the Tempest is basically the exact same character as Vanitas... but green. Right down to the "not even my face is my own" and iconic masks and utterly nihilistic outlook :)
