While usually their scales are completely black, rarely they may be born with white/gray scales as well. This is generally seen as a disadvantage given that they live in darkness, however those with lighter scales are able to stay out in the sun for much longer periods of time.

I like the idea of this art. Similar to my cowboy badger, I have the sherrif I kinda want to find a way to use them in my game, and tried to give this guy a fire theme in his scales. Still needs work though

In our campaign, we killed a red dragon, and had enough scales to make Konsi some half-plate from it.

She demanded they laquer the scales white, to bamboozle enemy wizards (Not all for fashion purposes.)
