I'm working on raffle prize for a while now.
My process always starts with the background and gretscale, this way I can create very appealing light scenarios.
I add light by making a color adjustment layer, saturated to 0 with much light, to create strong and soft edges.

His Rider is pretty hit or miss but his Robbie looks quite pretty. Maybe missing his bad boy features like the scar and single messed up eye brow. I like it when he looks more rough around the edges

it allows to mix the colors a little bit,
then I used the blur tool to soften some edges, and lastly I use an overlay layer to accentuate some shades and highlights, normally I use grey-ish purple hues for the shades and very soft kinda grey yellow-orange for highlights ^-^

My only gripe: I think they ramp up the number of cracked tiles too quickly. I cheated the second time round, so I could visit all the boards, and the final one was almost tedious until the edges were filled out. But in all other respects, a stunning game. 👍

YEAH even down to the background design, sleeping beauty has a lot of angles and straight edges in its stylization, from character to bg design, compared to cinderella which features a lot more rounder, softer edges in its style if you get what i mean
