@Koviiyay this inspired me to check the mmd texture finally lmao, i think all the confusion happens due to them lighter airbrush dots in the "shaded part". Due to the distance it goes like -WAWIE im green (+ that shaded part is full with red to green hues sakdskjd)

Interestingly, even after spending more time using pure paint as opposed to my initial technique of starting with grayscale and converting to color, the results are alarmingly similar save for better control over colors and natural brush textures. What do you think though?
