I just finished doing (another) thread on Astro Boy's "Greatest Robot in the World" arc yesterday, and a few people mentioned the manga Pluto, which is a modern adaptation of the famous arc.

I thought I'd do a live thread on it as I read it.

Just finished the on Netflix. It does a servicable "kid grows up into a hero" arc. It's main highlights are the incredible fight choreography & seeing the alt modern takes on the classic Ultrabrothers.

Ultraseven and Ace are undoubtedly my favorite out of this.

10. Nickolai started out as a villain but he's got a huge redemption arc. Autticus (mr. glasses) is the main antagonist in some earlier arcs of the story wife and I work on. He's pretty tragic tbh. Raos' father Laromess is an absuive war criminal so definitely a villain too.
