All the steps so far were done in Photoshop. With the art defined, I can proceed to vector it in Illustrator: pasting the jpg in a low opacity layer and using the pen tool to outline all of the shapes over it. Next, just need to color they all according to the ref!

It's weird that for a concept as relatively simple as "Nemesis Prime," variations of that idea have all been so wildly different.
