I've actually managed to create something that remotely resembles the manga/anime style I've been going for for YEARS... guess the key is in using think outlines, and proper highlights and shading... I'm actually proud of something for once...

Its preferred (for me) that the add layer goes slightly into the shading, so when I go in with a blur tool, it looks more glowy. I ONLY BLUR THE ADD LAYER AND NOT THE SHADING.

Using Shapes for Shading, especially with bigger pieces.

I'm usually pretty good with using shapes to shade, but I always feel the need to alias a lot of the shading. Something I can ignore in illustration is suddenly impossible to ignore in pixel art

Also soft lines... 😩
