While most of Gammoth's body is covered fur, its limbs are covered in a hard shell structure that is used for attaching clumps of snow to its legs. Rather than using the snow on its legs for defense, it uses it for attacking threats.

When Frankie’s limbs get detached, their first instinct is to return to her head. Within a certain range she can direct them to do whatever she wants. She can even pop her right eye out and still see through it. Good for pranks! 😋

Saw this NMH3 screenshot of Travis facing Fu, who's limbs get covered in what looks like eyes. Seeing him more closely resemble accurate depictions of angels makes me think how much his false divinity will play into the story.
