今日は日本初の本格的な地図を作成した伊能忠敬が、測量の為に岡山城下を訪れた日です。（1805年）

11/1に岡山県入りしました。
しかし日生諸島などの測量に時間が掛かっていた為、ようやくの到着でした。
伊能忠敬一行は岡山で越年しており、最終的に1/27まで滞在しました。

in 1805 a Norfolk man on a lads tour to Spain with his mates started a fight with some French and Spanish dudes after an argument about football got out of hand. They beat them up but Norfolk chap got decked and died. His mates erected a giant column in London in his honour.
